Just over a week ago, the Government of the Faroe Islands, a North Atlantic archipelago part of the Kingdom of Denmark, announced that they would set a catch limit of 500 dolphins at this year’s marine mammal hunt. The decision comes after more than 1,400 white-sided dolphins were cruelly killed during the 2021 hunt. While the catch limit is a step forward and clear evidence that your public action can positively impact policy, we do not think it goes anywhere near far enough. In the long run, it’s meaningless for dolphins living in the waters around the Faroe Islands. We hope you’ll join us in keeping up the pressure on Prime Minister Bárður Nielsen to stop this brutal hunt completely, and sign and share the petition alongside more than 330,000 people.
