We’ve joined up with the #DefendtheDeep team. So who are they?

In a critical effort to stop deep-sea mining, we’ve joined forces with three organizations leading the way on this campaign: the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition, the Oxygen Project, and the Sustainable Ocean Alliance. Together, they are the #DefendtheDeep team, and they’ve been doing some amazing work to save the seabed over the last few years. Both the Oxygen Project and Sustainable Ocean Alliance have strong ties with youth and indigenous leadership on the issue, and the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition is made up of over 100 nonprofits, fishers’ organizations, and policy institutes worldwide that are working together to protect vulnerable deep-sea ecosystems. With public support, we truly believe that Only One and the #DefendtheDeep team can help prevent environmental tragedy in the deep sea before it begins. If you haven’t already, please consider signing or sharing our official letter calling out deep-sea mining as a short-sighted, unjustified, and unacceptable threat to the ocean and the present and future generations that depend on it.
