UN Secretary-General calls for swift operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund

The Transitional Committee assigned with crafting the fundamental framework of Loss and Damage Fund hit a deadlock during extensive sessions in Egypt last week.

President Biden inaugurated the U.S.-Pacific Islands Forum Summit, establishing diplomatic relations with the Cook Islands and Niue and announcing a $200 million plan for Pacific climate resilience. Participants collectively acknowledged the climate crisis facing coastal nations most acutely and called for international support for mitigation efforts.
