Positive plastic highlights from 2023

Trevor Jones

As the year comes to a close, we want to share three positive developments from the fight against plastics that will help lift you into 2024. 1. After an exhaustive analysis earlier this year, the UN has stated that it is still possible to slash plastic pollution by 80% by 2040. 2. It was estimated this year that the global plastic alternative packaging market is expected to reach nearly $10 billion by 2027.

3. Thanks to the 2023 "Skip the Stuff" law, plastic utensils have officially been banned in New York City, an exciting development that could spread to other parts of the United States. Thank you for your tireless advocacy this year, and we look forward to the world we'll help shape together in 2024.
