Demand New York Leaders Invest in Essential Job-Creating & Clean-Energy Infrastructure

By submitting a comment, you are agreeing that your name and comment will appear on the Public Service Commission docket regarding the transmission line.

Want to take your advocacy a step further? The NY Public Service Commission is hosting a virtual public hearing where community members can make a statement about the project on Tuesday, April 29, at 1:00 pm and 5:30 pm. RSVP now and voice your support for a clean, reliable, affordable power grid for the Long Island and New York City area!

What you need to know

The U.S. must build over 10,000 miles of new power lines and launch 6,000 clean energy projects in the next decade to meet our climate goals. This transition isn’t just about protecting the environment — it’s about securing New York’s future.

A modern, expanded power grid is essential to delivering clean energy to homes and businesses, protecting our air, water, and land while strengthening energy independence. These investments will create jobs, boost local economies, and reverse decades of underinvestment, particularly in small towns and rural areas.

In New York, 80% of our energy infrastructure was built before the 1980s. That means we’re relying on outdated systems to power a 21st-century economy. The Propel NY project will change that — upgrading our grid with underground transmission lines that will meet growing demand by delivering safe, clean, and affordable energy across the New York City and Long Island area.

Updating our infrastructure isn’t optional — it’s essential to ensure a resilient, reliable, and affordable energy system that supports New Yorkers and our way of life. Now is the time to act.

Why your voice matters

Personal messages make a difference

Your message encourages the Public Service Commission to approve the project and highlights Long Island and the Bronx’s broad support for infrastructure improvement.

The stakes are high

New York is already capturing clean energy, but we do not have the infrastructure to properly harness it. We must act now.

This is your community

The infrastructure project will bring clean energy and jobs directly to the Long Island and Bronx communities.

What happens next

The Public Service Commission (PSC) is reviewing all comments in the coming months as they decide how this project will move forward. There will be an initial hearing on April 29th and every comment added before this date matters. Your input will help support successful permitting and the build-out of clean energy systems needed to power the future.
