Mangrove forests have adapted remarkably to their habitats, with their thick, green leaves designed to absorb drops of dew and conserve water, balancing out and regulating their inhospitably salty source of nutrients. As well as their waxy, succulent coating, some mangrove leaves have small hairs below their green surface used to deflect heavy wind and sunlight, helping to reduce loss of water and optimize growth π§π±
