The aptly named colorful sea whip can be found swaying in shallow waters, a soft coral with branches sometimes growing to be an impressive one meter tall. As members of the micro-carnivorous octocoral family, their slender stems are covered with coral polyps that each feature eight feathery “saw-toothed” tentacles that regularly emerge to feast on zooplankton and other particles 🌊
