Mangroves can take root in a multitude of different soils, with many species finding their home in muddy, salty swamps, whilst others have the ability to sprout from sand, peat, or even coral rock! Despite the notoriously inhospitable ecosystems, mangroves thrive on these coasts, even as their homes flood twice a day with the pull of the tide 🌱🌜
