Plastic waste and ocean wildlife shouldn’t mix (can you spot the fish hiding in the single-use cup?), but fortunately, plastics campaigners around the world are fighting to change laws and write a better story for all of us. The group Zero Waste Senegal has made fantastic progress in helping to mobilize the recent laws in Senegal banning bags and plastic products. Climate advocate Momar Baby has worked with 36 food outlets in Senegal on a mission to reduce their plastic use, reporting that this has collectively prevented 29,000 bottles and 81,000 straws from becoming plastic waste! 🇸🇳🧃
