In the ocean, everything is connected one way or another — and green sea turtles share a special bond with coral reefs 🐢 Green turtles feed mostly on algae, seagrasses, and seaweeds, with a delicate yet sawlike beak allowing them to scrap algae off rocks and tear grasses and seaweeds. Without herbivores like the green turtle eating algae, reefs can become overgrown and die, so this beautiful species is essential for maintaining the health of coral reefs.
