Photo of the day

The enchanting nurse sharks in our photo today are an abundant bottom-dwelling, seafloor species fondly known as the “couch potatoes of the ocean,” often found lounging in large groups in nebulous underwater mangrove root networks. Gentle, docile, but social in nature, nurse sharks travel slowly, usually only reaching about 1.5 miles per hour as they amble through the underbelly of mangrove forests 🦈
