From the surface to the deep, Antarctica’s
frigid waters are filled with life. Three forms of orca can be spotted in the ocean around the Antarctic Peninsula, each with unique genetics, acoustics, and preferences in prey. Wildlife in the Southern Ocean is faced with the threat of a rapidly warming habitat. Marine protected areas have been shown to vastly increase biodiversity, abundance, and ecosystem health, and provide resilience to climate change. That’s why we’re calling for the largest act of ocean protection in history in Antarctica!
