Corals are highly sensitive to heat conditions and exposure to sunlight, with rising ocean temperatures leading to expansive coral bleaching events almost every year. However, not all reefs bleach a ghostly white entirely — some corals appear to mysteriously fluoresce, displaying vivid colors that actually provide a protective reef “sunscreen,” giving corals an opportunity to recover and flourish once again! 💙
