Kelp forests, like the one seen here, paint an idyllic and atmospheric ocean scene, rhythmically swaying over the seabed and towering up to 175 feet over the ocean floor. Kelp fronds have a buoyancy that helps them to stand tall, allowing them to reach the ocean’s surface to bathe in sunlight and photosynthesize, in turn absorbing carbon and counterbalancing emissions 🌱🏭
