Photo of the day

Today is Endangered Species Day, and we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act, a landmark piece of legislation marking our commitment to the conservation of animals, plants, and wildlife, and of the ecosystems they call home, like coral reefs. The hawksbill turtle in today’s photo is one reef local in critical danger, and one of critical importance to coral ecosystem health, thought to have supported our seas for the last 100 million years.
