Ever wondered what happens to plastic waste after we recover it from our beaches? Whilst some is responsibly disposed of, we’re seeing a huge increase in plastic transformation, with innovative technological processes helping to ensure that waste is put to good use both through upcycling plastic to products, and efficient waste-to-energy programs. Remarkably, Sweden actively imports 800,000 tons of waste each year to power their waste-to-energy program, as their domestic waste doesn’t meet the needs of their hyper-efficient energy conversion process! 🇸🇪
