Unlike terrestrial tree planting, seaweed doesn’t require fresh water or expensive fertilizers to support their growth, instead naturally expanding by up to two feet a day in the ocean, without competing for other demands on land. We’re learning more about the huge role seaweed can play in absorbing carbon emissions, and with global seaweed production doubling over the past decade, we’re witnessing a hopeful, promising, and substantial step in the right direction! 💧🌱
