Sharks are, in our opinion, some of the most incredible, resilient creatures on Earth. Did you know that sharks have survived five mass extinctions, including the one that killed the dinosaurs? More than 465 known shark species live in our ocean today — but sadly, nearly one in four of them is currently threatened with extinction due to human activities like overfishing and finning. Ahead of the CITES conference in a few weeks’ time, Only One is gathering signatures on a letter to key delegates that calls on them to protect requiem sharks: a family of migratory sharks characteristic of warm seas, including the tiger shark, bull shark, lemon shark, and various others. Together with all of you, we can give our leaders the necessary support to vote yes on this critical issue. We’re already at almost 15,000 signatures 👏 If you want to help spread the word about this campaign, head to our Act page!
