The date is set: World leaders to reconvene on historic High Seas Treaty

After failing in August to finalize an international treaty to protect the ocean, world leaders have announced that they will reconvene on February 20th, 2023 to continue negotiations. Only One and our partners in RISE UP and The High Seas Alliance are optimistic that with renewed support, this can truly be the moment that pushes the campaign over the finish line. The treaty, which has now been under discussion for more than two decades, represents the world’s best chance to protect international waters — which comprise two-thirds of Earth’s ocean — from overfishing and exploitation.

In order to ensure that this is truly the final negotiation on the High Seas Treaty, we need to make some noise. Can you share our global High Seas petition on Twitter and Facebook?
