We are just days away from what may be our best chance to save the “free ocean” from destruction by human hands. Starting on Monday, August 15, world leaders will meet in New York to finalize a treaty that would ensure the protection of the High Seas — the ocean area that lies outside of any country’s jurisdiction and is one of the largest reservoirs of biodiversity on the planet, but has only 1.2% of protected waters. This meeting could be the culmination of years of hard work be environmental organizations and changemakers across the globe. Can you raise your voice today and sign and share the petition calling for a strong High Seas Treaty? It will make all the difference during this critical final push: we’ve just passed 60,000 signatures!
